We waited 3 weeks for the right conditions to fly these cliffs last spring while in The Azores, Portugal. We got lucky and this was the result. In early May we sailed from the Cape Verde Islands to the Azores in Portugal. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but whatever expectations I had were eclipsed with the reality. The weather was certainly challenging and patience was the order of the day. But god, the payoffs were huge. MANY, MANY thanks to Joao Brum, and all the friendly local pilots who are members of the Sao Miguel paragliding club. They were all so kind and gracious and really showed us some amazing places to fly. Here is a couple of photos from our flying and kiting sessions. Enjoy.
